Sean Stinchcomb and his wife, Jade, have been foster parents to many different dogs over the past few years, but just recently they’ve made a very special connection with a particular foster dog. Kobe was given to a shelter in Maryland by his previous owners.

He was four years old and looked as though he hadn’t been well cared for in his past. His first day out of the shelter, Kobe’s foster parents bought him an ice cream cone, and things began to turn around for the young dog.

He’s now spent the past two weeks with Sean, Jade, and their impressive crew of animals which includes two pit bulls and four different cats. Sean and Jade say that they’ve loved seeing Kobe open up and get out of his shell.

He’s currently undergoing heart worm treatment and can’t play around too much with the other animals, but that certainly won’t last much longer.

Kobe’s been smiling a lot around the house, especially whenever someone sits down next to him, and Sean is confident that it’s a real sign of his increasing happiness since leaving the shelter.

Sean and Jade have been doing this, and treating their animals incredibly well, for a long time. Back in 2013, Sean even enlisted their first dog, Delilah in a proposal scheme.

In a few months Kobe will be on the market for a permanent home, and there’s sure to be some tears as the family lets him go, but they’ll rest easy knowing how happy they’ve made him and how they helped him along his way to a long, happy life. Share away, people!
