The Bastrop Louisiana Kill Pens in Bastrop, Louisiana are terrible places. The recent finding there have been followed by another ghastly crime against animals. This time in Wardville, Louisiana, and the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office is not pursuing any actions – at all. On Saturday, September 24th, 2016, Nicole Johnson Snock got a call from her sister in law about a puppy that was starving.
Snock, a staunch animal advocate and founder of Plenty of Pitties found the puppy and other sickly and emaciated dog in a trailer.
The rundown trailer was found in a low-income section of Pineville, Louisiana. Snock’s sister in law had called the police, but they claimed there weren’t enough units to respond until Monday. Nicole found a rabbit cage with what looked like dog remains, but when she stepped closer, the dog inside tried to stand up but fell over. The poor creature was covered in fecal matter and Demodex mange.
Nicole called the police again and explained the urgency. She told the police she would take the dog to the vet herself and the police said she could be arrested for stealing the dog!
Nicole took the dog home and gave him a bath before taking him the vet. The dog had no hair and was all skin and bones.
The dog, Nicole had named Job, succumbed to the abuse, and died later that evening. She posted a message on Facebook and donations from all over the U.S. have come in. No charges have been filed, and no one is being held accountable. Something needs to be done! Share away, people.
